

Samuel Dwight Robinson, 89 years old, died on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Veterans Center in Norman, OK. He was born in Oklahoma City on October 14, 1922. Following his graduation from Central High School, Sam enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during World War II as a ball turret gunner on a B-17 bomber stationed in England. After his discharge, Sam returned to Oklahoma City helping his parents at their business, The Royal Fur Company. He graduated from Oklahoma City University and later worked for many years as a personnel assistant at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.Sam is survived by his wife, Roberta, his son and two daughters. His children are grown, married, and blessed him with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled at 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 29. The celebration will be held at First United Methodist Church, 131 NW 4th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73102.The family requests instead of flowers, donation to First United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City, Heartland Hospice 1923 Atchison Dr of Norman, or Oklahoma Honor Flights.
