

Sam graduated from Harding High in 1960 and from OU in 1965 with a degree in aerospace aeronautical engineering. Sam moved to Seattle to work for Boeing where he met the love of his life Patty; They were married for 59 years!
Sam and Patty moved to Cape Kennedy in Florida, and then to Houston working for NASA.
Sam met his lifetime friend Dave Driver at OU and formed a bond of friendship with Lynn Rippito and Scott Poole. He was an active member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Sam enjoyed reading the Daily Oklahoman. He solved the crosswords, jumble, sudoku and celebrity cipher - all in ink!
In1976 Sam and Patty adopted their beautiful daughter Nancy, and she blessed them with three wonderful grandchildren, Michael, Christian and Sophie, and a great granddaughter Aurora.
Sam and Patty loved to travel. Europe, Tahiti, Maui, St. Thomas USVI and Key West to name a few. Sam also loved live music at the Zoo Amphitheater and had season tickets to the Civic Center with his sister-in-law Mary.
Sam had numerous friends at the Cock-O-The Walk Bar and Grill. Have a shot for him!
We 3 amigos – Sam, Patty, and Mary, had a place at Lake Eufaula for 14 years. We had fun with grandkids and “Sunday Fun Day” at 3 fingers beach with great friends! He will be missed but fondly remembered.
A memorial visitation for Sam will be Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73116. Attire for this casual celebration is blue jeans and team colors OU/OSU/Thunder.
A memorial service for Samuel will be held Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73116-1298.
