

Sandra (Slavik) Richardson, (age 88) passed away May 17, 2021, in Oklahoma City, surrounded by loved ones. Sandy was born on November 15, 1932 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Marion (Estell) and T.J. Slavik. Sandy was the youngest of three daughters and they were the best of friends. The family moved several times during her childhood as her father was employed by Gulf Oil Company. Sandy attended schools in Oklahoma, Illinois, New Mexico and graduated from Incarnate Word High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. Students there voted Sandy the prettiest girl in high school. Following graduation she attended the University of Oklahoma. Sandy was a proud member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Sandy met and married James (Jim) Richardson and they had two wonderful sons, James Frank and David Blair. Sandy was a wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and homemaker for 70 years. During this time, the family lived in Colorado Springs, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Norman and Denver and the last 30 years Sandy and Jim have resided in Oklahoma City. Sandy enjoyed raising her sons, cheering on her grandchildren, reading, gardening, caring for numerous pets, and being outdoors. Sandy was a lifelong Sooner fan and loved visiting the beautiful Norman campus.
Sandy is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband Jim; sisters Diane Cook of Corpus Christi, Texas and Shirley (Travis) Smith of San Antonio, Texas; sons Jimmy (Holly) of Douglas, Wyoming and David of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Paul (Chelsea) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Billy of Seattle, Washington, Kelle, David Jr. (Micailee), Teddy and Grace of Denver, Colorado; great grandchildren Henry, Gretta, Cora and Ruth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Ryder and Samuel of Denver, Colorado.
Interment and private services for the family will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Sandy was very loved and special to all of us and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers we ask that you take a moment to hug a child, a sibling, a parent, a grandparent, or walk amongst the flowers. Time waits for no one.
