

Shelene Kay McWaters, loved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at the age of 59 on Saturday, December 10, 2022, in Nicoma Park, Oklahoma. She was born February 22, 1963, at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma to Gary McWaters and Peggy Lee (Lum). Shelene attend Choctaw High School where she enjoyed playing soccer and softball. After high school, she developed a love for building structures as a welder. She would later become a best friend and caretaker to her mother. Shelene loved to explore and travel new destinations where she enjoyed camping and fishing. When she wasn’t busy exploring life, Shelene loved to just sit at home around the dining room table and converse with family while assembling a very difficult puzzle. No challenge was too great for Shelene.
For many years, Shelene attended and was very active in the Redemption Church, of Oklahoma City.
She is survived by her mother Peggy Lee (Lum) and step-father Wayne Lee of Nicoma Park; brother Kenneth McWaters and wife Ilieta of Norman, nephews Brandon McWaters of Oklahoma City and Brad McWaters of Little Elm, Texas; sister-in-law Lorena McWaters of Oklahoma City, nephew Lee McWaters and wife Alexia, great niece Elysia McWaters, and great nephews Jackson and Kieran McWaters of Oklahoma City. Shelene loved her extended family that included aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Gary McWaters of Porum; brother Kim McWaters and nephew Jake Kratky of Oklahoma City.
A graveside service for Shelene will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Kolb Cemetery, 3706 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
