On February 6, 1937 in Boley, OK, a fourth child, Shirley Jean Hill Perry was born to the union of Omelia Standifer Hill and Ezekiel Hill. There were three siblings, Ezekiel Hill, Jr., Franklin D. Hill and Marian Hill Kinchion, who preceded her in death. Shirley attended elementary and graduated from Boley High School in 1956. She was vice president of her senior class, the drum majorette for the marching band and she participated in many other activities. She attended Langston University where she graduated in 1962 with a degree in Home Economics. Shirley was a teacher of Home Economics for 30+ years in the Oklahoma City Public Schools and retired from her duties in 2000. To this union five children were born, Vanessa, Russell, Rochelle, Mark and Lee.
She had many gifts and enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, and gardening. While she loved to share her talents with others, her favorite pastime was taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all adored her.
