

Susan passed peacefully to heaven on December 8, 2025. She was born to Vauda H. Clark and Mary Ruth (Gibson) Clark on June 20, 1949, in Ada, Oklahoma. The family lived in Ft. Smith, Arkansas until Susan was five then settled in Oklahoma City. Susan went to West Nichols Hills Elementary and was in the Class of 1967 at John Marshall High School. The Clarks were members of Trinity Baptist Church, where Susan enjoyed choirs, youth group, and dear friends. Her faith in Jesus shaped her life, and In recent years, she worshiped at Crossings Oklahoma City.
Susan was able to use her kind, caring nature to encourage and support others as she worked in medical offices as a receptionist and administrator. She valued the friendships of many co-workers through the years. Susan was an avid reader and enjoyed concerts, traveling, and taking walks.
Susan and her husband, Clayton Arthur Hayes, loved to entertain and host holiday gatherings for friends and family - their home was always warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated. As a loving and generous wife, mother, and grandmother, she treasured time spent with all her family. Susan loved her role as “Grammy” and enjoyed talking, laughing, and taking trips with her sisters.
Susan is survived by her husband, Clayton Arthur Hayes, son Jack Clark (Leachville, Ar.), daughter Jennifer Clark McCorkle (Norman, Ok.), Kirk McCorkle, sisters Vaudeana (Tom) Thoma, Sally (Ken) DeFehr, Christy (Mark) Thompson, her bonus children and their families, her grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews and cousins. Susan will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service for Susan will be held at Crossings Community Church on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
