Sybil King, 95, of Midwest City, OK passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014. She was born Sept. 29, 1918 in Holdenville, OK to Herbert and Gladys (Ligon) Pinion. She was married to Paul King for 64 years and was blessed with 3 sons. Sybil met Paul at a church function in Holdenville when they were both in their 20’s and she corresponded with him when Paul joined the Navy at the beginning of World War II. She traveled by herself all the way to San Francisco to meet Paul. They married while he was in port near the end of the war.
Sybil loved her Lord, her church and her family and devoted herself to them wholeheartedly. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, formerly known as Hillcrest Baptist Church, since 1956. She loved to read and served as the church librarian for many years.
Sybil always cared for her family and mealtimes would find them around the table, where she fussed over them, making sure that everyone had plenty to eat. She was always a lady, bringing elegance and class to her home, but had a grit and determination that served her well through the years. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Sybil is survived by her 3 sons, Michael and his sweetheart Walta Rollin, Jonathan, David and his wife Sylvie; grandchildren, Tommy King and partner Rickey Smith, Danny King and his wife Lisa, Daphne Young, Eric King, Adam King and his wife Jessica; great grandchildren Austin King, Dustin King, Cheyanne King, Ashley King, Katie King, Cyric King, Mayson King, Trey Young, Olivia Young, Jackson King, and Jenna King as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul, her parents, and her sister Una Miller.
