Timothy Edward Vaughn, 51, of OKC passed from this life on January 22, 2018. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral Service and a service celebrating his life will be held at 11am on Friday, January 26th at Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Thursday from 10am to 8pm at the funeral home at 7720 S. Penn in OKC.
Tim was born on the day after Christmas in 1966 to Arvin Earnest and Alice Patricia (Scott) Vaughn. He grew up in OKC where he attended Dale Rogers before graduating from Capitol Hill High School with the Class of 1988. He was extremely active in Special Olympics where he medaled in several track and field events. Tim spent several years working at the local sheltered workshop before eventually taking a position at the central Goodwill Industries distribution center off Reno where he was employed as a merchandise sorter. Tim was a hard worker and made many wonderful friends through his work with Goodwill Industries.
Tim was a lover of good music, but Elvis and Queen were two of his favorites. He enjoyed dressing up in his Elvis costume and demonstrating his one of a kind dance moves. He enjoyed attending Saturday School and sporting events at local churches where he could always be found with a smile on his face. Tim had many amazing friends, but never any enemies. His joyful and friendly demeanor made him a delight to be around and he was always up for a scary movie or board game. Tim was never happier than when he was surrounded by his friends and family and he always enjoyed going to Walmart with his dad where he could spend the money he earned at his job. Timothy Vaughn brought a lot of joy and laughter to this world in his short 51 yrs of life and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother Alice Patricia Vaughn; a brother Raymond E. Rose; nephew Nicholas D. Martin; and grandparents Esther and James “Shorty” Vaughn. He is survived by his father Arvin Vaughn; eight siblings: Suzie Lana, Donald Scott and wife Maria, Jimmy Vaughn, Patty Rose, Laura Rose, Vicky Vaughn, Chris Vaughn and Rudy Dartez, and Janice Martin and Terry Nichols. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family members.
