Tony grew up in a Greek-American family in Oklahoma City, the second of three brothers. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1972.
Five years later at a Greek convention in Tulsa, Tony met the love of his life, Margo. They wed in 1979 and remained happily married for 46 years. They had two daughters, Christine and Connie, his pride and joy, who adored their father.
Tony worked several jobs before finding his calling. He bought a restaurant in 2003, “Johnny’s Burgers & More.” Tony also sold cars for three different dealerships over four decades. He eventually became the general manager of Eskridge Oldsmobile.
Tony was deeply devoted to St. George Greek Orthodox Church. He loved cooking for church luncheons and working alongside his cousins who nicknamed him “Bubba” in the gyro booth at the church's annual Greek Festival. While serving at Orthodox youth camps, he proudly earned the nickname "Chef Tony." He also served as president of the church parish council and chairman of the Greek Festival.
Tony also loved his Brasswood neighborhood in Edmond. He often drove his golf cart around checking in on his neighbors, and enjoyed connecting with people.
Tony loved dogs, especially his own, Athena, Charlie and Mazie. But above all, he loved being a dad.
Tony will be remembered most for his booming laugh, generous heart and unwavering commitment to his family and to Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Christine Chiconas; his older brother, Peter Chiconas; and his father-in-law, John Mitsopoulos.
