Walter Robert Thoni

Walter Robert Thoni, 82 year-old former longtime Midwest City, OK resident, passed away July 20, 2014 in OKC, OK. Born Oct. 17, 1931 in New Hartford, NY, he was the son of George and Anna Debold Thoni. Walter was a longstanding employee at Tinker AFB where he was Deputy Division Chief for the B-52 Missile Division. He loved fishing; traveling; reading; and ballroom dancing. Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Thoni in 2011. Survivors include his wife Peggy Cooper Thoni of the home; 2 sons, Robert Thoni, D.V.M. of Kilgore, TX; and William and his wife Lori Thoni of Andover, KS; 1 daughter, Carol Bowman of The Village, OK; 4 grandchildren, Nick Thoni; Anna Thoni; Ryan Campbell; and Griffin Thoni. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Epworth Villa Chapel, 14901 N. Pennsylvania Ave., OKC, OK 73134 with Chaplain Adrian Martin officiating.
