

Warren M. Crosby, M.D., passed away October 15, 2011. He was born in Topeka, Kansas, March 19, 1931, to Betty and Warren Crosby, Jr. Warren grew up in Topeka and finished his last two years of high school at Cranbrook in Detroit, Michigan.
He went to Stanford University for three years and finished his fourth at Washburn University in Topeka. From there he graduated KU Medical School and did his internship in Kansas City at St. Luke’s Hospital. Warren moved to San Francisco and completed his four years of residency in OB Gyn. In 1962, he came to Oklahoma City to the OU Health Science Center and was an instructor in the OB Gyn Department. Warren started the PCEP Perinatal Continuing Education Program in Oklahoma. He was a professor in the Department of OB Gyn, had his ABOG Certificate and National Board Certificate. He also belonged to numerous medical organizations throughout his career. As recently as January 2011, Warren was honored with the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Medical Service.
Warren married Joanne in 1954 and one child was born to this union, Sarah-who shared a birthday with her father.
He is survived by his wife Joanne Crosby; daughter Sarah and her husband Tad Cooper; sisters Nancy Martin of Honolulu, Hawaii and Carol Fulkerson, Prescott, Arizona; special friends Terri and Chet Schuelein and children Shanna and Anna as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Department of OB Gyn University of OK Medical Center, Directed to the Warren M. Crosby Chair of OB Gyn.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
