Warren Curtis Schilb DVM passed away June 13, 2013 at the age of 91 in Oklahoma City. Born in Montserrat, MO, he served in WWII as a B-24 bomber pilot. He married his sweetheart, Marie Lee Spura, from Oklahoma City and returned to Missouri where he earned his doctor of veterinary medicine degree. The couple moved to Oklahoma City in 1950 where he established Shamrock Animal Hospital. He was in the Air Force reserves for many years rising to the level of Lt. Colonel. He also participated in the Sertoma “Service to Mankind” organization. His passion for flying lead to many family adventures and fond memories as he flew his single engine Bonanza aircraft. His love of animals and people endeared him to clients and friends alike. “Doc” was always optimist and positive. He had a mischievous smile and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He could fix anything and always had countless projects going. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marie Lee Spura, in 2010, and is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Tays and husband Thomas of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Diana Kennedy and husband Danny of Oklahoma City; and son, Richard Schilb of Olalla WA. He has 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
