Whaneta Ann (Conwell) Lance, age 83, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. Whaneta was born February 8, 1938 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Margaret Tresea (Uhlenhake) Conwell and Fred Ern Conwell. Whaneta graduated high school in 1956 from Big Four School in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. After high school, she focused her energy in learning secretarial skills in shorthand and bookkeeping. Whaneta then worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Ozarka Water Co., Lincoln County News, and several banks. Whaneta married F. Lee Lance, and they spent 43 years together. She was a Cub Scout Leader & Campfire Girls Leader. Whaneta is survived by daughter Kim Bishop (Mike) of Mustang, Oklahoma; grandson Brent Bishop (Andrea), great grandson Bennett, granddaughter Suzie Metsch (David), great grandchild Dylan and great grandchild Kaylie. Whaneta was preceded in death by her husband F. Lee Lance; son Kevin Lee Lance; father Fred Ern Conwell and mother Margaret Tresea (Uhlenhake) Conwell; sister Margie Woodard; sister Betty Alexander; sister Mary Hill; brother Johnny Conwell and brother Fred Conwell. A visitation for Whaneta will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159.
