Bill was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Les and Volley Comstock. He graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was actively involved in the swimming team and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Following college, he went to work for Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company and there he earned his CLU designation. Yearning for adventure he moved to Aspen, Colorado in the early 1960’s where he taught skiing for 16 years and later became the marketing director for the Aspen Highlands and travelled the country promoting Aspen and putting it on the map.
He moved to OKC in 1976 and became involved in the commercial real estate appraisal business. He became a trusted mentor to many of his colleagues, many of whom looked to him as a father figure.
He is survived by his wife Janie, his brother Jack (Peg) Comstock of Minneapolis, Minnesota, nephew Tom (Claudia) Comstock of Minneapolis, Minnesota, nephew Peter Comstock of Baxter, Minnesota, nephew Brent McDonald of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nephew Braden McDonald of Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as his sister-in-law Maureena McDonald of Houston, Texas.
Services will be in the chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 17 at 4:00pm. A reception will follow in the parlor.
