He was born October 27, 1945, to Phillip Martin Davey and Loretta Fleming Davey in Montclair, New Jersey, joining his two beloved sisters, Mary Lee and Linda.
A proud graduate of Wayne High School in 1963, Bill continued his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University and printing schools in New York City. He began his career in the printing industry with Continental Can Company, printing soda cans, before moving on to Ray Publishing Company, where he printed children’s books for Simon & Schuster. His professional journey led him to A.R. Meeker Company, which specialized in large printing presses. When the company expanded to Oklahoma City in 1976, Bill, just 32 at the time, was promoted to lead the new branch—relocating his young family in a courageous step that would shape their future.
Bill later worked for Thomson Reuters’s Research Institute of America as National Sales Manager, where he distinguished himself with stellar sales achievements, earning numerous awards and memorable trips in recognition of his success.
In May 1966, Bill met the love of his life, Nancy L. Wolfe, in Greenwood Lake, NY. From that moment, they were inseparable. Married on August 3, 1968, in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, they were blessed with four sons: William Jr. (1971), Brad (1973), Darren (1975), and Jason (1977).
Bill was a hands-on father, coaching baseball at Christ the King School, cheering from the sidelines at wrestling meets, and sharing his love of the game of golf. He enjoyed getting to know his sons’ friends and their families, creating bonds that lasted well beyond the school years.
Upon retiring in 2001, Bill and Nancy moved to Lake Tenkiller in Cookson, OK. True to form, Bill didn’t sit still for long—he purchased Caney Ridge Marina, where he spent seven wonderful years growing the business and connecting with the lake community. Watching his children and grandchildren ski, swim, and make memories at the lake brought him immense joy.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Mary Lee Davey Klein and Linda Ann Davey Henry, and his brother Timothy Davey.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Nancy, his sons and their families:
• William F. Davey, Jr. and wife Andrea, with children Carrie and Leann; Cookson, OK
• Brad W. Davey and wife Heather, with children Alexandra, Blair, and Bradford; Dallas, TX
• Darren W. Davey and wife Ardath, with children Charles and Claire; Dallas, TX
• Jason W. Davey and wife Heather, with children Kate and Liam; Edmond, OK
Also surviving are his sister, Gaye Davey Zingler and husband Charles, brothers-in-law William A. Wolfe and wife, Elizabeth Jean, Carl R. Wolfe, and Ret. Colonel William Henry, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
Bill was a true gentleman—quick-witted, always ready to lend a hand, and known for his hard work, kindness, and trustworthiness. Small gestures like a firm handshake and a quick Thank You spoke volumes about his character. He took deep pride in the men his sons became and the fathers they are today.
He will be dearly missed and forever held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bill’s life will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, OK at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
