

Zeta Mae Woody Cowan was born January 4, 1917, to Leonard and Minnie Woody in Weatherford, OK. She passed away September 30, 2012 in Oklahoma City, OK. She had two brothers and two sisters, one younger than her. She attended Oklahoma City University and most notably worked filling the position of United States District Court Clerk in the Federal Court House Building until she retired at 62. Zeta also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and she was a seamstress, making most of her clothes and her “two girls” clothes as they were growing up. She also enjoyed cooking, sawing wood, hunting and was always willing to do what was needed, right alongside her husband. Mother is survived by her sister, Rena, and by “her girls”, C. C., and Judy her husband, Jimmy. Three grandchildren: Cara Sue Yonnes and her husband, Jim; Michael Hicks and his wife Teri, Heather Fieth and her husband, Fred. She also had two step grandchildren; Debi Womack and her husband, Mark, and Robert Wallar and his wife, Beth. There are five great grandchildren, Lindsay and her family, Joshua and his family, and Rebecca and her family, Reagan, and Emily, and four step great grandchildren: Pierce, Tate, Ty, and Tristan, two great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and their families.
