

Bettie Louise Tower, 88, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home on October 19, 2017. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14th from 10-11 am with a Celebration of Life starting at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Olathe, 2024 E. 151st St., Olathe, KS 66062.
Bettie spent her life raising her family; working tirelessly in her beloved First Baptist Church; volunteering; she was active in the Parkinson’s Foundation; and always accompanied and encouraged Donald in his many musical pursuits. She loved to sing and clap along.
Bettie was predeceased by her loving husband Donald Lee Tower of 57 years; her parents Lester and Mildred Jones; two sisters, Thelma Willis and Frieda Elliott and one brother, Earl Jones.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Donella Hinson and Deanna Farley and a much loved son-in-law, Carl Hinson, husband of Donella. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; Mikado Hinson and his wife Shaundra, Chris Hinson, Dai Farley and Ian Farley and wife Gwen. She leaves seven great grandchildren, Kendall Hinson, Maya Hinson, M.J. Hinson, Xavier Farley, Lexi Farley, Klara Hinson and Levi Hinson. Bettie was exceedingly proud of her family.
Bettie also leaves behind sister Kay Hayes, brother Larry Jones and in addition nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Good Samaritan and to the Kansas City Hospice staff, who all took special care of Bettie.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Society or to the Kansas City Hospice House.
