Brian Lee Pogue, 44, of Gardner, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He will forever be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to everyone he knew.
Brian was born on March 27, 1978 in Joplin, Missouri to James Dee Sr. and Anita Marie (Cantrell) Pogue. He attended Olathe North High School. He was very enthusiastic at working and repairing cars, detailing cars and installing sound systems. He also enjoyed watching Kansas City Chiefs football and especially the Kansas City Royals. He was considered the “Life of the Party”. He was loved dearly, always had a beautiful smile, always laughing and was loved by so many of his friends who will miss him dearly.
Brian is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Ave Rose Pogue who died in 2014. He is survived by his father, James Dee Pogue Sr. of Joplin, Missouri, loving mother, Anita Pogue Mawle and his stepfather, Gary Mawle of Olathe, Kansas, son, Brian Pogue Jr. age 7 and daughter, Nevaeh Pogue age 6 both of Eudora, Kansas, mother of his children, Jessica Burden, two brothers, Jimmy Pogue Jr. of Gardner, Kansas and Christopher Pogue of Raytown, Missouri.
“Celebration of Life” 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home during the "Celebration of Life" service. Brian will be cremated according to his wishes.
