

Charles E. (Chuck) Jordan 71, was born in Salina, Kansas on August 28, 1942 to Charles Sumner and Anna Moorman. After a long struggle with many health issues he departed this life on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
He graduated from Solomon High School and Kansas State University with degrees in Milling and Baking Science. He was part of the K-State ROTC and a member of the Kansas Air National Guard. He was employed in the milling industry with Pillsbury, International Multifood, Cereal Food Processors, General Mills, Jamaica Flour Mills and Bay State Milling. He was a member of the Operative Miller’s Association and received the Milling Operative of the Year Award from Milling and Baking News publication in 2000.
He was married in Salina, Kansas at Sacred Heart Cathedral to Lois Mooney in 1966. They raised a family of five children in various locations including Kansas City, Minneapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Kingston, Jamaica. He also lived and worked for several years in the Phoenix area. Chuck enjoyed fishing and K-State sports. His greatest joy in life however, was spending time with his family especially his ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, his father and mother, sisters Charlene, Barbara and Jane, and father and mother-in-law, Loren and Rita Mooney.
Chuck is survived by his wife Lois, son James (Katie) Jordan, daughters Julie (Steve Kaup) Jordan, Janet (Bob) Brake, Jessica (Mike) Cangemi and his ten grandchildren Devin, C.J. Emily, Mia, Allison, Ethan, Abby, Desmond, Weston and Kadence and a sister Frances Wolfe. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and extended family members as well as countless friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Siteman Cancer Center, 4921 Parkview Place, St. Louis, MO 63110 or to Hospice of Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation, 20375 W. 151st, Suite 363, Olathe, KS 66061.
An opportunity to meet with family and pay respects will be at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, Kansas from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. followed by a time of remembrance at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 13. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Olathe, Kansas. Chuck will be cremated according to his wishes.
