Deborah Smith

Debbie grew up in Olathe and Overland Park, KS. She graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1975. After high school, Debbie worked at Taco Via in Overland Park. Near this Taco Via was a neighborhood restaurant and bar where she met her future husband, Raymond Smith. They were married for 46 years and had two children Carrie and Val. Debbie had a career involving multiple roles in the Shawnee Mission School district ranging from food service to custodial work. Debbie enjoyed drawing, art work, calligraphy and watching WWE wrestling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia (Boehm) Brown.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Smith; children Carrie Smith and Val (Jaime) Wilde; and siblings Dave Brown, Sandy Brown and Pam (Tom) Fritz.

Please join us Monday, September 9, 2024, for a visitation at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS 66061, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home, with a committal service immediately following at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
