Dennis Wayne Jackson

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McGilley and Frye 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas with services to follow on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Dennis was born on May 11, 1929 or May 10, 1929 (Indian birthday) in Oaks, Oklahoma to Rachael and Buck Jackson. Dennis was raised at the Kenwood Reservation and graduated from Jay High School. Dennis then enlisted in the Navy and served his duty as an aircraft machinist. Arriving in Stanley, Kansas Dennis married Wanda Irvin whom he had four children with. Dennis retired from the Prairie Village fire department after devoting 34 years of service.

Dennis is survived by his daughter Linda, and husband Wayne and brother Rusty Smith. Nine (9) grandchildren Kenny Sloan Jr. and his wife Jen, James Sloan and his wife Rachelle, Angie Sloan and her wife Jess, Lucas and his wife Melissa, Lewis Jackson and his wife Kim, Michelle Meyers and her husband and Steven Meyers, Todd Watkins and Robin Taylor, Lynn Cunningham and husband Ronn. Eighteen (18) great grandchildren Justin Sloan, Josh Sloan, Jacob Sloan, Brech Caruso, Cedar Caruso, Makayla Sloan, Cody Sloan, Cooper Sloan, Alex Jones and Abby Worlein, Lewis Jackson, Temperance Jackson, Kaitlyn and AJ Swierzbinski, Kodi Pianoalto and husband Jake, Chance Cunningham, Colt Cunningham and Sadie Watkins. Eight (8) great-great grandchildren Peyton Sloan, Layne Sloan, Levi Sloan, Brayden Jones, Brody Jones, Easton Sloan, Jolee Pianoalto and Jena Pianoalto.

Dennis is proceeded in death by his second wife Barbara, brothers Jimmy Jackson and Butch Smith, son William Jackson, son Dennis R. Jackson, daughter Denise Meyers, and great grandchildren Wayne Meyers and Jayme Watkins.
