Dorothy Ann Norman

Dorothy Ann Norman (Granny) passed peacefully from this life to the next on March 14, 2011. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Norman was a resident of the Villa St.Francis Nursing Facility in Olathe KS at the time of her death.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 16th from 5:00 to 7:00PM at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E Loula Olathe KS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 17th at 10:00AM at St.Therese Little Flower Church 5814 Euclid Ave Kansas City MO. The burial will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown MO.

Dorothy’s three surviving children are Tom Norman Jr. of Olathe KS, Valerie Kibler of Old Hickory TN and Patrick Norman of Weston MO. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children.

Dorothy was a long-time resident of Olathe and spent many of her retirement years doing volunteer work there. She was often found leading tours of the Mahaffie House, working at the Discovery Shop, reading to children at Mahaffie Elementary School or helping out at the front desk of Olathe Medical Center.

Dorothy also spent 20 years working as a nurse at Shawnee Mission Hospital in Shawnee Mission KS.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Villa St.Francis and Grace Hospice for the loving care and support they have provided to Granny.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests making contributions to Villa St.Francis and/or Grace Hospice.

Granny was dearly loved and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
