Coach Earl R. Hobbs 83, Leawood KS, died Monday January 21, 2013 at Homestead of Leawood. Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held on February 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew Christian Church of Olathe- 13890 W. 127th Street- Olathe, KS 66062- (phone 913-764-5888).
He was born July 10, 1929 in Aurora CO. to Earl R. & Betty J. (Ross) Hobbs. He married Shirley McGee on July 1950 in Colo. Springs; they later divorced.
He was an educator & coach. Survivors include a daughter Sherri Arnhold and husband Buck Olathe, KS; a son Greg Hobbs and wife Chris Hays, KS; sister, Marion Doty of Pueblo, CO, four grandchildren; one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walt Hobbs, two sons; Steve Hobbs and Jeff Hobbs.
