Gary Robert Kirk

Gary (Papa) Kirk, 65, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 8, 2014. He will forever be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, son, brother and friend to everyone he met.

Gary was born on July 30, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri to Allen Robert and Juanita (Earhart) Kirk. He attended and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School.Starting on February 9, 1970 he worked for Deluxe Corporation 44 years as a machine maintenance. Gary enjoyed sporting events, loved Nascar and sharing drinks with friends at local bars.

Gary is preceded in death by his father Allen Robert Kirk. Survivors include his wife of 31 years Debbie Kirk of the home, mother Juanita Kirk of Merriam, Kansas, son Dusty Allen Kirk and his wife Nicki of Olathe, Kansas, two daughters Angela Carvalho of Olathe, Kansas and Sherri Gimson of Belton, Missouri. Left behind to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren: Michael Porter, Heather Porter, Christina Tripp-Ishmael, Daniel Ishmael, Derek Gimson, Alyssa, Emilee, and Canyon Carvalho. He will be sadly missed by his three great grandchildren: Leah Olson, Jace Tripp and Ashton Ishmael. Gary is also survived by his sister Vicki Kirk of New Port Richey, Florida.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Funeral Home. Interment in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 South Blackbob Rd. Olathe, Kansas.
