

Gladys Dora (Legitt) Sours, 75, of Springhill, KS passed away peacefully November 20, 2022. Gladys was born January 11, 1947, in Alice, Texas where she lived until she met and married her husband of 52 years, John Del Sours.
She is survived by her sons, John (wife, Carol) and Charles (wife, Angi); grandchildren, Joe, Logan (wife, Lauren), Olivia, and Terri; great-granddaughters, Mabel and Zoey; and brothers, Frank and Clifton (aka Buck) Legitt. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, John, sister, Johnnie Faye, and parents, Thomas and Leanore Legitt.
Gladys worked at Bendix King/Honeywell for 15 years before spending the last 20 years of her career as a cashier at Price Chopper/Payless Foods in Olathe, where she was known for her big smile and silly holiday hats. Gladys loved her coworkers and customers, and just recently retired in July of this year. She took great joy in often being recognized around town by customers. Gladys enjoyed traveling with John to locations across the United States, as well as the Caribbean and Australia. She was an avid reader, talented cross stitcher, and a friend to so many.
A celebration of Gladys’ life will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, 10 a.m. -12 noon (open house) at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Gladys’ memory to Hillside Community Lutheran Church in Springhill, KS, where Gladys was a member.
