

“Bud”, as Harold was known all of his life was born on January 9, 1929 in Weeping Water Nebraska to Theodore Frank and Thelma Ellen (Cappen) Shepherd. The family lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for a few years before moving to Kansas City, Missouri. Bud retired from Graham Ship-By-Truck, and was a member of Teamsters Local #41 for 45 years. He enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling. He was a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club and owned four Fords made between 1946 and 1952 at the time of his death.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Thelma Shepherd, his loving wife Mary Clara (Stevens) Shepherd, one brother Theodore Alfred Shepherd and one sister Mary Lou Conners.
Survivors include his four sons, Mike Shepherd and his wife Vika of Olathe, Kansas, Gerald Shepherd and his wife Jill of Greenwood, Missouri, Dennis Shepherd and his wife Lee of Lone Jack, Missouri, Donald Shepherd and his wife Clarice of Osceola, Missouri, one daughter Susan Murphy and her husband John of Oak Grove, Missouri, and one sister Beverly Ohnstad and her husband Garland of Casper, Wyoming.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his 19 grandchildren: Robert Shepherd, Crystal Shepherd Lawson, Jason (Sara) Shepherd, Jenny (Kevin) Harris, Jared Shepherd, Charles Shepherd, Jeffrey Shepherd, Jacqueline Shepherd, Nicholas Shepherd, Molly Shepherd, Alexander (Jenni) Smith, Donald (Tara) Shepherd, Justin Nidiffer, Colt Nidiffer, Laci Parham (Jerry Stamps), Katlin Parham (Christopher Cole), Mary Ann Parham (Justin Porter), and Renee Gallegos.
He will be sadly missed by his 24 great grandchildren: Garret Lawson, Tyler Lawson, Emma Hicks, Haley Burge, Cassidy Wisley, Allison Wisley, Andrea Wisley, James Wisley, Daniel Wisley, Emily Wisley, Samantha Wisley, Alister Smith, Annaleise Smith, Breka Rose Ellis, Hayden Shepherd, Donnie Shepherd, Lucas Hans, Ethan Shepherd, Ely Shepherd, Natalie Ann Nidiffer, Lorelei Cole, Lola Cole, Kyleigh Stamps, and Valynn Nidiffer.
