Kathryn Sue Young Craig-Pritchett

Kathryn Sue Craig-Pritchett, 61 of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 2, 2016. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met.

Kathy was born on January 11, 1955 in Oakdale, California to Billy Earl and Velta Fern (Sharp) Young. She attended and graduated from Orland Joint Union High School. Following high school Kathy joined the U.S. Army. She served her country honorably in the U.S. Army for three years where she was a motor transport operator. Upon separation she worked at a veterinarian office where she developed her love for animals. She later moved to Oklahoma and worked as a federal corrections officer. When she moved to Oklahoma she met the love of her life Steven Pritchett. She married him on February 12, 1996. Kathy loved her dogs , kids, and grandkids endlessly. Her animals brought great joy to her life in many ways. She also enjoyed reading and shopping at the local thrift stores.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents: Billy and Velta Young, and son Steven Pritchett in 2003. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Steven Pritchett of the home, daughter, Sabrina DeCosta of Norton, MA and two sons, Gary Palmer of Overland Park, Kansas and David Jerome Pritchett and his wife Christina of Ozark, Missouri. Left behind to cherish her memory are her seven grandchildren: Jacob Palmer, Macalyn Pritchett, Jakob Marsh, Ciara Courtois, Cameron Pritchett, Bowen White and Dorian De Costa. She will be sadly missed by her two sisters: Virginia Defaria and Nancy Young.

Kathryn will be cremated according to her wishes. A private family Inurnment will take place on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. in Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas where she will be buried with Military Honors for her dedicated service in the U.S. Army.
