

Kenneth L. Jenkins, 59, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 23, 2013. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend to everyone he met.
Kenneth was born on April 11, 1954 in Garnett, Kansas. He attended and graduated from Chanute High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy for eight years. He served on a ship off shore during the Vietnam War. Ken was a lifelong resident of Olathe, Kansas. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his seven grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Ken is preceded in death by his mother Mary K. Spurrier. Survivors include his father William G. Jenkins and his wife Marilyn of Iola, Kansas, Loving wife of 41 years Joyce Jenkins of the home, two sons William J. Jenkins and his wife Olga of San Diego, California and Dustin M. Jenkins and his wife Susan of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his seven grandchildren: Jessica Felix, Lauren Felix, Frankie Felix, Conner Jenkins, Samantha Jenkins, William Jenkins and Meadow Jenkins. Ken is also survived by his brother Doug M. Jenkins of Chanute, Kansas. He will be sadly missed by his faithful pet companion “Buddy”.
Ken was cremated according to his wishes. A memorial service will take place at a later time. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Olathe Animal Control Unit
