Today is Christmas Day, a day reserved for joy and thanks. And while I am so thankful to have known Kyle, my heart hurts, for it was just yesterday I found out Kyle had passed -- over two years ago. How did I let the time slip by? The tyranny of the urgent. But as I said, I'm grateful for my friendship with Kyle. I first met him as one of Laser Storm's first patrons. From the first time I played, I knew two things 1) I want to work here when I'm old enough, and 2) This kid, Kyle, is so cool. He introduced me to 311, one of my favorite bands to this day. We had a few great years as coworkers, when I was hired at Laser Storm at 14. Years passed, and I learned Kyle lived less than a mile away from me. We reunited and, instantly, it was like no time had passed. Same old Kyle, with slightly more facial hair. He taught me so much, like how to properly and politely hit on women. But mostly, he taught me how to be a good friend. His door was ALWAYS open. I hung out at his place often, and he was never in a hurry to kick me out. He often told me how much I meant to him as a friend. Most people don't do that. But most people weren't Kyle. Though today must hurt for Kyle's family and friends, I want to wish them all a Merry Christmas. And I want them to know I will be celebrating the memory of my friend.

My former third grade student Kyle Fisher left this earth far too soon at the young age of 35.  Kyle holds  a special place in my heart.  He was my playground buddy who always had lots of questions.  When Kyle was an adult we occassionally talked in messages and calls about his life, our values, and political views.  Our last talk was a few months ago.  That day, Kyle learned he and I shared similar views on a subject. He laughed and said, "I knew it, Mrs. Finter, I knew it!"  He cared deeply about others.  Kyle with his boyish smile is greatly missed.

I had the privilege of sharing many good times with Kyle and his family when we were kids. I’ll always remember the special relationship he had with our family cat, Nermal, and all of the good will he shared with so many people. I’ll also treasure the kindness and friendship he showed me when I was hospitalized after a car accident. He was a true and good friend through difficult times, and will be missed.

It’s difficult to think we are having to write memories of you rather than being able to make more.  
I remember Kyle as a laidback, kindhearted, and selfless friend.  We had meet over 20 years ago at Laser Storm and he easily became “one of the guys”.  If we weren’t goofing around at Laser Storm then we were back at my house and he was stuck watching me play Starcraft.  There is no easy way to say goodbye.  Rest In Peace Bro.  

An infectious laugh with you covering your mouth, and then saying,"no way!" is what I see every time I think back on the last twenty years of memories. I saw a kid turn into a man that could have done anything in the world. I have always thought of Kyle like my fourth little brother, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in peace brother.

Twenty years after we first met I have a hard time saying goodbye.
You were one of the most Generous, Kind, Selfless, and Charismatic people I have ever known. There was always a goofy, fun loving, grin on your face and ornery glean in your eyes. 
I hope that you have found peace, and a warm kitten to keep you company.



I will miss Kyle.  We were great grade school friends.  My favorite memories of Kyle were playing street hockey in our cul-de-sac with Kevin and Andy.   We thought we were all-stars.  No matter which groups we moved to as we went through middle school and high school we never lost our friendship or the ability to pick up right where we left off.   Kyle was a genuine friend.  After College I moved to Arkansas and was back in Olathe 6yrs ago for a gender-reveal party for my first child at my parents and Kyle came by.  He was the only friend from K-12 school that came.   At the time he was so excited to be getting his college degree and had a so many aspirations of what was to come.  And he cared, asking how I was doing, and proud that I'd soon be a father.     I wish I would have been able to keep better in touch over these last years.  I attribute a lot of the person I have become to some of my earliest grade school friends, and today, I thank Kyle for being one of them.  

Kyle, a great kid, a goofy little brother, thought he was so smart at times he was always right go figure kids these days when I look back he was my older  brothers little buddy heck Dan even gave a nickname it was  Yi-Yo don't know how that came about but it did. We all  used to play outside sports as kids being kids oh and can't ever forget Kyle playing  Nintendo with all of us He taught himself how to play with the controller upside down if you would've seen it it was the funniest thing you've ever see something I'll never forget. Kyle was good hearted and meant well but as mad as I am right now being he is gone the good lord has taken him to a better place to be with big brother Dan  love and miss you two !!!


How this hurts my heart, and now he’s gone.   Kyle is my little brother, 16 years younger than me and maybe not as close as some siblings would be.  However, we did have a special bond that was just ours.  I remember taking him and my son Randy to their first concert at Sandstone Amphitheater to see Bush.  The three of us would go to the movies all the time.  His favorite all time movie was Independence Day.  He carried the love for movies his whole life.  My Husband and I took Randy and Kyle to Las Vegas when he was 22.  It was the only vacation I ever took with him. He had a blast.  We rode in a limo from the airport to the hotel and saw all there was to see.  Jeff, Randy and Kyle would go out all night gambling in the hotel, while I slept.  In the morning, I would hear their funny stories of things and people they saw.  I was so proud the day he graduated from JCCC.  He was first in the family to complete college.  We all sat in the stand eagerly waiting and watching for him. It was so exciting. I am going to miss his smile, and hearing him say “Hey Sis”, or “Thanks Sis”.   I wish I had one more moment to tell him, “I love you little brother”.  I will miss you with all my heart.  

I met Kyle my first week at Amazon 2 years ago. I had never driven a fork lift before and crashed it almost instantly and was super embarrassed but he came up toe me and said "If I had a dollar for every time I hit something with a forklift I wouldn't need this job so dont feel bad buddy" and it made me feel better and he became my buddy ever since. He always asked me how my wife and I were everyday. Ill never forget how excited he was for me when I announced to my co-workers that I was having a baby and always asked me every chance he got how my daughter was doing. He even sent me a nice card to congratulate me on such an amazing thing. Ill never forget the kindness he showed me as a complete stranger and the kindness he showed me as a friend. You will be deeply missed my friend I'm so sad that youre gone. Rest easy and thank you for the memories we shared

Kyle was such a big part of Adam's life, and our family's too. I have so many, many fond memories of all the good times in Olathe through their school years and growing up. Kyle was such a good friend to Adam - kind and fun loving, and wow did they have a great time with the video games! The times with Kyle were such a joy. 
We are all better people because of how Kyle touched our lives. Thank you for sharing him and being such a happy and positive part of my son's lives.

I met Kyle about a year and a half ago through his mom Elaine and brother Dusty. We met for dinner as I was going to become your new roommate soon. I lived with you for a short time but got to know you well and our cats became friends. I will always remember your love for music, your computer games and movies. We had deep talks about life and I will always remember your funny stories and your love for cooking. You are loved and missed so much. It’s hard to believe, but I hope you are at peace now. 

I met you many years ago,  I think 2009, in a Psych class at JCCC. It was my first semester of college and I was quiet and nervous. You befriended me quickly, making me laugh and feel comfortable. Your smile and relaxed nature was infectious. You got me through my first semester of college when I didn’t know a soul. We stayed in touch for many years and I’d think of you often. Your sense of humor and goofiness is something I will cherish and won’t ever forget.

I met you around 2015 when you lived across the street from my friend in Aspen Apartments in Gardner. I was still in highschool and I remember coming over and hanging out, you recommending me all kinds of great music, watching baseball, you cooking food. I remember meeting your cat “Cami” when she was still a kitten. Most of all I’ll never forget your infectious positivity and ability to console someone and make a day much brighter. You were always such a good spirit and I know you’ll never be forgotten by anyone you left a mark on. Thanks for being my friend and showing me what a good person is like. I’ll forever cherish the opportunity of meeting such a great man.

I met Kyle in 2007 when I moved into an apartment on the 3rd floor in Olathe. He was my neighbor and he made me laugh and then listened when I was sad too.  Such a  memorable and genuine guy that I looked him up on Facebook years later and when we reconnected, we talked on the phone for an hour catching up. I will treasure and hold your memory close to my heart. 

Remembering you checking up on me, my wife, son, and meeting at concerts. Static x, soulfly, ect. Peace be with you brother, and your family.
