

Larry Kenneth McIntyre, 60, of Olathe, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Funeral services will be 1pm, Saturday, February 5, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, with burial following in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Friday, at McGilley & Frye.
Larry was born October 10, 1950 in St. Joseph, MO to Kenneth and Velma (Edson) McIntyre. He was a graduate of Kansas State University where he earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. Larry worked for Allied Signal (Honeywell) for over 15 years, before retiring due to health reasons. During his high school years, he was awarded Best Dressed and also earned a championship in Tap Dancing. He loved to travel, jog and just relax in front of the big screen TV and watch The Three Stooges. Larry was very attentive to his family and truly loved and adored his kids.
Mr. McIntyre is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Melene (Miguel) McIntyre of the home; 4 children, Todd McIntyre of FL, Joel and wife Dana McIntyre of Olathe, KS, Scott McIntyre of Overland Park, KS and Gayle Renee McIntyre of Olathe; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa, Joel Thomas and Tatum Jayd; sister, Kathleen and husband Steve Baxley of NC, sister-in-law Feleda Balila and 2 nieces.
Larry was a caring, kind and loving man who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
