Linda Ann (Biggerstaff) Evans, 78, passed away peacefully early in the morning of February 13, 2026, entering the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whose love and promises sustained her throughout her life.
Born on July 17, 1947 in Boone, Iowa, to Shirley and Willis “Willie” Biggerstaff, Linda grew up with a strong foundation of faith, family, and compassion. On June 29, 1968, she married Larry Arthur Evans beginning a marriage marked by devotion, partnership, and steadfast love. They shared more than 50 years together until Larry’s passing in 2019.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, her brother Bill, her eldest son Mark Evans, and two grandchildren, Tristan Evans and Madison Rayfield, whom she now rejoices to be reunited with in the presence of the Lord.
She is survived by her daughter Jill Ann (Evans) Staab and Jill’s husband Jeremy, her son Lee Dwayne Evans, her brother Scott Biggerstaff and his wife Kathy, and four cherished grandchildren: Adrian, Eban, Padyn, and Mikaila.
A pillar of the Kansas Deaf community, Linda dedicated her career to the Kansas School for the Deaf, where she supported generations of students with patience, kindness, and unwavering commitment. She was an active member of the local Deaf club, offering friendship, leadership, and a welcoming spirit to all who crossed her path.
Linda’s Christian faith was the quiet strength behind everything she did. She lived out her beliefs through service, humility, and a gentle heart that reflected Christ’s love. A fitting tribute to her life can be found in the words of the King James Bible:
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
— Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
Linda also expressed her creativity through art and crafting, filling her home and the lives of others with handmade beauty. She treasured her travels across the United States with Larry, and in later years, she found great joy in exploring the Pacific Northwest with her daughter Jill—sharing scenic drives, coastal views, and quiet moments that became cherished memories.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, no services will be held. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to make a donation to the Kansas Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture, an organization close to her heart:

Linda’s memorial rests beside her beloved husband and son at Newcomer’s Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, facing the peaceful lake on the property—a serene place of reflection and reunion.
She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her artistic spirit, her devotion to family, and her deep love for the community she served. Though she will be profoundly missed, her legacy of faith and kindness lives on in all who knew her.
