Surrounded by her loving family, Lois E. Feeley, 79, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to everyone she knew.
Lois was born on February 25, 1943 in Glen Cove, New York, to Robert Jr. and Evelyn (Christie) Honeyman. She attended and graduated from Glen Cove High School. After years of being a devoted mother she fulfilled her own personal goal of continuing her education at Caldwell College in Caldwell, New Jersey. In 1994 she graduated Summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a concentration in Art Therapy.
Lois met the love of her life Edward Matthew Feeley Sr. in 1968. They were married on January 4, 1969. Settling in South Orange, NJ, they raised their thirteen children, Mary, Louise, Matthew, Mark, Anne, Julie, Catherine, Jeanne, Margaret, Edward Jr., Evelyn, Robert and Carrie. She worked alongside her husband at their process engineering firm Pro Power Corporation. PPC flourished as a result of their hard work, dedication, and true grit. They enjoyed raising their children, working side by side in the office, golfing, traveling, and spoiling their grandchildren. Spending peaceful time in Kiawah Island, SC, filled their later years. They supported each other in everything they did. Lois lost her beloved husband Ed on October 28, 2013. She cherished every day of their 45 years together.
Second to her family, Lois was most proud of her 35 years of sobriety. She was thankful to AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) for giving her the strength and courage to remain sober since 1987. She treasured all the friends she met while attending meetings. Her knowledge in recovery and education allowed her to help many, and she always remembered those who helped her.
Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the times she spent with her children, 33 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. When not busy with family, she was very active in her community. In her last years she resided in Olathe, Kansas, where she made many close friends. Her friendships from youth through the end of life are a testament to her character. Lois will be sadly missed by all.
Preceding Lois in death are her parents, loving husband Edward Matthew Feeley Sr, sons Matthew and Mark Feeley, daughter Anne Feeley, and her daughter-in-law Sue Feeley.
