

Lois Lee Helm, 97, of Olathe, KS passed away Monday, August 21st, 2023 at the Hospice House of Olathe Medical Center. A viewing was held at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30th, directly followed by a graveside service at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Lois was born December 28th, 1925 in LaCygne, Kansas to Henry and Eva Mae Helm. In 1935, the family moved to Olathe, Kansas where Lois attended school. She went on to work for TWA (Trans World Airlines) and had a distinguished career where they later recognized her for 25 years of loyal service. While she worked for TWA and the years following her retirement, Lois had the opportunity to embark on many exciting adventures including visiting her nephew in Germany, which she greatly enjoyed.
Lois enjoyed traveling including many trips to the Colorado Mountains visiting family there and loved visiting her dear cousin, Betty Greene in Berthoud, Colorado. She loved watching her Kansas City Chiefs, spending time with many friends and catching up on her favorite show, Friends. She also held a special place in her heart for animals and enjoyed the companionship of many over her lifetime especially Tanner and Callie, whom she loved so very much. Lois will be remembered for her unwavering and strong faith, vivaciousness, fiery determination, witty humor, unbounded kindness, infectious smile and deep love for her family and friends.
Her parents, Henry Helm who passed in 1968 and Eva Helm who passed in 1983 as well as her sister Margaret, who passed in 2016, preceded her in death.
She is survived by 4 nephews and nieces. David Brink, Loveland, CO., Cheryl Brink, Colorado Springs, CO., Nancy Greenhaw (Joe), Colleyville, TX. and Mark Brink (Lee Ann), Sarasota, FL. and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by and spent her final weeks surrounded by her dear friends Sarah Burnham and David Pulliam of Olathe, Kansas who were like family to her and she loved very much.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all of the staff at the Hoeger House and the Hospice House of Olathe for taking such compassionate care of Lois in her final weeks.
