Lynda Faye (Barber) Tessin, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, KS. She is buried in Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, FL.
She was born June 16, 1943 in the Autuga County Hospital in Prattville, Alabama to George Barber and Ilene (Bryant) Barber. She married Daniel C. Tessin in 1962 who had passed on before her in 2014. She had 3 children, Michelle (deceased), Dan (married to Raquel) of the Philippines, and Tim (married to Lissa) in Hartford, KS. She had five grandchildren, Nina Perley (married to Ethan) of Bryant, AR, Taylor (married to Amber) of Watauga, TX, Michelle Tessin of the Philippines, Jennifer Frye (married to Andrew) of Pensacola, FL, and Danielle Tessin(college student in Indiana). She had 3 great grandchildren, Emily Tessin, Jacen Tessin, and James Perley.
Though raised in Prattville, Alabama she moved to Mobile, Alabama after marriage and shortly thereafter to mid-Michigan where she lived until they retired to Pensacola, FL. They eventually moved around based on circumstance and in her final years lived at Life Care Center of Burlington, KS.
She was a born again Christian and is in the presence of her Lord. Church was very important to her and she was a member of many great churches in her life, belonging to Lighthouse Baptist Church of Emporia, KS when she passed. She had been a church secretary for a while at the Open Door Baptist Church of Midland, Michigan back in the 1980s and had also been a Girl Friday and worked at Dow Corning performing secretarial duties.
She enjoyed antiquing, eating out, and spending time with her family. She will be sorely missed.
