Maria Lourdes Peppard, 70, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
Maria was born on August 1, 1951 in Manila, Philippines to Emilio Jereos and Josefa (Montilla) Zerrudo. She attended Maryknoll College in Quezon City, Philippines.
Maria married the love of her life William Edward Peppard on July 29, 1972 in Green Hills, Philippines. Together they raised their five children Garry, Mark, Brian, Michelle and Pamela.
Maria dedicated herself to reading her bible and sharing the word of God. She devoted herself to her family which were of utmost importance. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren. As she went about her day, Maria sang uplifting songs that filled the house. For relaxation, she turned to the Trinity Broadcast Network where she watched the 700 Club and It’s Supernatural. Maria enjoyed cooking savory Filipino dishes to share with family and friends. She also had a knack for decorating and took pride in making her home comfortable and welcoming. She was greatly respected and loved by all. We will miss her until we meet again.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents Emilio and Josefa Zerrudo, her husband William Edward Peppard, her siblings Maria Cristina Zerrudo Calimlim, Roberto Montilla Zerrudo, and Joselito Montilla Zerrudo. She is survived by her five children, Garry Peppard and his wife Tiffany of Lake Dallas, Texas, Mark Peppard of Olathe, Kansas, Brian Peppard and his wife Mindy of Lacygne, Kansas, Michelle Peppard of Olathe, Kansas and Pamela Peppard of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren Jacob Peppard and his wife Payton, Alex Peppard, Quinton Peppard, William Peppard, Kayla Lietzke, Treston Lietzke, Audrey Lietzke and one great granddaughter Kaliyah Lietzke. She is also survived by her siblings Maria Eugenia Zerrudo Marte, Emilio Montilla Zerrudo, Reynaldo Montilla Zerrudo, Eduardo Montilla Zerrudo, and Luis Montilla Zerrudo.
A visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, KS 66061. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, KS 66061. An interment will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, KS 66048.
