Martha “Suzy” Stone, age 67, passed away in Olathe, KS, March 21, 2011. Born Feb 4, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Charles and Evelyn Minnick, she is survived by James “Jim” Stone, her husband of 46 years, three daughters Sara Eccles, Kathleen Leahey, D'Arcy Stone, four loving grandchildren and one dog.
She was a vibrant, quick-witted wife and mother who loved to read and enjoyed her flower gardens, both passions which she passed on to her children. While she lived most of her life in Olathe working as a homemaker, she worked for a short time at Olathe Headstart as a parent involvement coordinator and was a teacher both in the classroom and in life. She loved music, cooking, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Greater Kansas City Iris Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Visitation will be Friday March 25 from 6-8pm and memorial services will be held Saturday, March 26 starting at 10 am at McGilley and Frye funeral home at 105 East Loula in Olathe, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to The Greater Kansas City Iris Society.
