Mary C. McKnight

Mary Catherine McKnight, 80, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011. Funeral services will be 11am, Tuesday, February 15, at Olathe Christian Church, with burial following in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10-11am, Tuesday, at Olathe Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S. Ridgeview Road, Olathe, KS 66062.

Mary was born on March 6, 1930 in St. Joseph, MO to Edward Joseph Graham and Helen M. (Nellie) Quinn. She attended Lillis High School and married Howard J. McKnight on August 22, 1959. Mary was a homemaker most of her life and was truly devoted to her family. She loved to cook, especially desserts and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Olathe Christian Church and very involved in the OWLS Bible Study.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 daughters, Paula McKnight and Katherine McKnight; son-in-law, Tim Murphy; granddaughter, Emma McKnight; sister, Helen Ann Hemingway; and 2 brothers; Frank Graham and Lawrence Graham.

She is survived by her children, Joe (Kim) McKnight, Janie Murphy, Karen (Floyd) Koder and John (Jody) McKnight; brother, Bob (Rose) Graham; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Rob, Laura, Shannon, Zachary, Matthew, Anna and Sarah.

Mary was a caring, kind and loving person who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
