Formally Sister Mary Stephen of Ursuline Order. She was a nun for twenty two years in Kansas City Missouri. and made an impact not only to the church by being the first to change the habit but by her teaching of Art, English and Speech to many.
Sister Mary Stephen left the order in 1965. Moving to California and teaching High School for another thirty years just seemed to fill her passion for education and the mentoring of young lives.
She enjoyed travel making trips to Europe and several other worldly destinations. She was a wealth of knowledge and information touching everyone with her travel stories and inspiring knowledge.
She continued her passion for teaching after retirement by providing private tutoring within her own home for several more years. Mary Ann Mooney will truly be missed by all who knew her. She has changed the lives of many. We all will be ever grateful we knew her and were a small part of her life for the past 93 years.
