Maureen Kay Selley

Maureen Kay Selley, 71, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be 11am, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Legacy Christian Church, 10150 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas 66212. Private graveside services will be in Oakley, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House, 15310 S Marion St, Olathe, Kansas 66061.

Maureen was born February 15, 1945 in Oakley, Kansas to Guy and Lura (Morris) Sparks. After marrying the love of her life, Lowell Selley, they moved to Dodge City and eventually made their way to the Kansas City area. Her faith has always been the center of her life as she served as Church Secretary for First Christian Church of Dodge City, Legacy Christian Church of Overland Park and most recently First Presbyterian Church of Olathe. You could always find Maureen in her crimson and blue rooting on her beloved Jayhawks or her boys in blue, the Kansas City Royals. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her family was her ultimate joy in life.

Mrs. Selley was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Guy and Gary Sparks.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lowell Selley of the home; 3 sons, Greg (Dee) Selley of Olathe, Rod Selley of Overland Park and Richard (Tara) Selley of Overland Park and 7 grandchildren, Kyle, Amber, Allan, Shawn, Zachary, Xavier and Liam.
