Mavis attended Scottsbluff High School marrying her high school sweetheart, Donald Tuttle, soon after graduation. She began working at Sprint, Ltd (United Telephone) early in her professional career, eventually being transferred and moving to the Kansas City area where she and her family settled in Olathe, KS. She retired from Sprint, Ltd after 28 years of service.
Mavis’s greatest love was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, as well as sewing, crocheting, and cooking for loved ones. She was a passionate reader, making a habit of reading two or three novels at the same time and sometimes spending hours losing herself in the stories. She was the heart and quite strength of her family. The family traditions she shared with her children, especially around the holidays, will continue to keep her family close although her guidance and laughter are already missed.
Mavis is preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Tuttle, her parents Lucille and Henry Hammer, and sister Sylvia Jean Daiss.
She is survived by her loving children, Dawn Tuttle along with her partner Stephanie O’Leary, and Corey Tuttle and his husband Robert San Luis, as well as her sister Lyllus Dalbey, and grandson Kai Jaxson San Luis Tuttle.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at First Christian Church of Olathe, 200 E. Loula, Olathe, KS, on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 10:00AM.
