Michael Francis Hurley, 77, of Gardner, Lake passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 3, 2023. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he knew.
“Mike” as he was known by his family and friends was born on February 2, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Michael Francis and Mada Rose (Hanson) Hurley. He attended and graduated from Edison High School. He met the love of his life Janice Eldeen Henderson. They were married on February 2, 1971. Together they raised their four children, Larry, Carissa, Terry and Darrell. Janice stood by him, rock solid with her loving support. They lived together in Florida, Texas and then Gardner, Kansas.
Mike enjoyed his retirement from Property Maintenance. He enjoyed spending time with his family and nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his grandchildren. Mike was a lifelong Fisherman. He particularly enjoyed doing home repairs and keeping pace with political news. He will be sadly missed.
His parents and his loving son Larry Dean Webb preceded Mike in death. He leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-two years, Janice Hurley, daughter, Carissa Hurley and her husband Joe Longoria, and two sons, Terry Webb and Darrell Hurley and his wife Tammy. Left behind to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren, Morgan Webb, Sydnee Webb, Kayla Longoria, Christian Longoria Hurley, Jeff Royal-Webb, Jessica Ortiz, Hunter Hurley, Maci Morin and four great grandchildren, Ivan, Brantley, Autumn, and Amil.
Mike will be cremated according to his wishes. A “Celebration of Life” will take place at a later date.
