Ruth was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 31, 1936 to the late Clyde and Pearl Nichols. Her childhood years were spent in Kansas City, Kansas and Bonner Springs, Kansas. She met the love of her life, George Virgil Green and they married on June 19, 1954. In 2004 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Ruth was a homemaker when her children were young. In 1985 she opened a retail business called “My Favorite Things”. She was very successful at all four locations for 26 years. Ruth and the business retired in 2014. At the time of her death she was residing at Silvercrest Senior Living Facility.
Preceding Ruth in death were her husband, her parents, and two sisters: Velva Piehler and Marie Brown.
She is survived by her children: Deborah (Mark) Schroff and Stephen Green; grandchildren: Jeni (Anthony) Schmiller, Savannah Schroff and Benjamin Green; three great grandchildren; her sister Retha Hustad; and many nieces and nehphews.
Her family is having a private Celebration of her Life with burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
