Patrick "Pat" Wade Squires

Patrick (Pat) Wade Squires, 69, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 22, 2023. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to everyone he knew.

“Pat” as he was known by his family and friends was born on September 26, 1953 in Lincoln, Illinois to Gilbert Ray Sr. and Sarah Ann (Payne) Squires. He attended and graduated from Eastern Community High School in Eastern Illinois. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973.

His favorite pass time was working on cars and going to watch the Drag Races. He enjoyed spending time with his family and nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his nine grandchildren. Pat also enjoyed watching classic movies and the TV series, “Young Sheldon”. He will be sadly missed.

His parents, Gilbert Ray and Sarah Ann Squires, two brothers, Phillip Squires and Ray Squires and his faithful companion “Gator” precede Pat in death. He is survived by his children, Gina Vickers and her husband Doug of Olathe, Kansas, Jeremy Squires of Leavenworth, Kansas, Jennifer Squires of Olathe, Kansas and Jason Squires and his wife Chelsea of Garnett, Kansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his nine grandchildren, Kylee Squires, Destiny Talley, Sydney Vickers, Logan Squires, Zachary Talley, Merisza Squires, Meghan Squires, Edward Squires and Alyssa Vickers along with his pet dog “Hammy” and his two cats, “Waddles” and “Donkey”. His brother, Garnett Squires of Oklahoma and his two sister-in-laws, Marcia Squires of Kentucky and Cindy Squires of Washington, also survive Pat.

Pat wil be cremated according to his wishes. A “Celebration of Life” honoring the life of, Patrick Wade Squires will take place at a later date. Condolences may be offered at www.McGilley-Frye.com
