Ricky Wayne Davidson

Ricky Wayne Davidson, 51, of Olathe Kansas passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. He will forever be remembered as a loving son, like a brother to many and a faithful community servant to everyone he knew. Ricky was born on June 16, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas. He was the only child of Karen Leon and Velma Ruth (Christian) Davidson.

He loved helping others with his Non for Profit Organization, (Positive Changes) since becoming paralyzed 31 years ago. He loved cars and motorcycles. He had the need for speed which won him a national championship shortly before the accident that left him paralyzed. Ricky was a devoted member of Life Mission Church. There he was loved and greeted by so many of his church family, by far too many to mention. He also served as a member of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce and was an Inspirational Speaker.

Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Karen Leon Davidson. He is survived by his loving mother Velma Ruth Davidson of the home. Along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, wonderful friends and many caregivers that became like family to him. He will be sadly missed.

Ricky will be cremated according to his wishes. A “Celebration of Life” will be 10:00a.m. Saturday, November 25th at the LifeMission Church 16111 South Lone Elm Road Olathe, Kansas 66062. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Spinal Cord Injury Research
