Terry William Hubbell, 75, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. Terry will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met.
Terry was born on November 11, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to Junior Adolph and Waneta May (Hape) Hubbell. He attended Olathe High School. Terry served his country honorably in the United States Army. He served three times in Vietnam before he retired after twenty four years of service. Staff Sergeant Terry William Hubbell was awarded the Army Commendation Medal while assigned duties as Communications Chief along with several other Certificates of Achievements.
Terry married the love of his life, Virginia Yvonne Martz on March 29, 1969. Together they raised Terry’s two children, Edward and Pamela and their son Wendell Hubbell. After retiring from the military Terry worked for the City Of Olathe for fourteen years, and then three additional years with Ambrose Company. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the times he spend with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Junior Adolph and Waneta May Hubbell along with his brother, Larry Hubbell. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Virginia Y. Hubbell and their son Wendell Dee Hubbell of the home, son, Edward William Hubbell of Webb City, Missouri, and daughter, Pamela Sue Osborn of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his three granddaughters, Hillary Osborn, Hannah Osborn and Tiffinie Hazen and her husband Joe, three great grandsons, Gabriel Hazen, Connor Hazen and Braden Hazen. Terry also leaves behind one brother, David Hubbell and his wife Nancy of Odenton, Maryland and one sister, Anna Hubbell of Olathe, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in the name of Terry William Hubbell to cover funeral expenses. Inurnment with full Military Honors in Leavenworth National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
