George Commerford

George Commerford Sr., 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Jersey City, George had lived in Edison before moving to Old Bridge Twp. over 30 years ago. He worked in retail sales for Bloomingdale’s in Short Hills for 15 years and for 14 years, he worked for various stock trade companies in their operations department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and MENSA; and enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching football.

George was predeceased by his parents, George D. & Margaret Commerford, and his sister, Carol Commerford. He is survived by his wife, Marcy Commerford; his son, George John Eric Commerford; his sisters: Margaret Kelleher & Barbara Commerford; and many nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. Funeral Services will be at 10am at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 133 Amboy Road, Matawan, NJ. Interment will follow to Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ.
