John J. Tryba Jr.

John J. Tryba, Jr., 89, of Ellenton, FL., passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by family. John was a Computer Programmer for many years, retiring from the Middlesex County Community College, in 1984. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved collecting stamps and coins. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II as a Surgical Medical Technician. John was an active member of the VFW Post 9226, The Knights of Columbus, the Tideview Estates Association, and a communicant of Holy Cross RC Church, all of Ellenton, FL. Born in Cartaret, he resided in Perth Amboy for most of his life, before moving to Ellenton, FL., in 1984. Mr Tryba was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, the late Carmella nee Romeo Tryba in 2009. He is also predeceased by his parents, John & Anna Tryba ; his brother Stanley & wife Emily; his sister Louise & husband John Bozan; his sister Elizabeth "Betty" & husband Emil Skiba; his brother in laws Bert Sabo, Harry Brown, Ed Sneed, Mike Curto, and Westy Curto. Surviving are his children, Mark Tryba & his wife Marian, Janine Gillis & her husband Robert, and Frank Tryba & his wife Amy. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Justin, Eric, Bryan, Jacob, Amanda, & Kaitlyn; and former daughter in laws, Janice & Dawn, and numerous nieces & nephews. Friends may call on Sunday, January 9, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy. 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. The Funeral will be Monday, January 10 at 9am from the funeral home, to proceed to Holy Spirit RC Church, 580 Hazel Ave. Perth Amboy, where the Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11am.
