Marie C. Walton

Marie C. Walton, 92, of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at her residence. She was a homemaker who was an avid reader and loved mystery novels; she loved to crochet and loved her family very much, especially her grandsons. Marie was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church, in Sayreville. Born in Queens, she lived in Brooklyn most of her life and then in Ormond Beach, Florida, for 20 years, moving to Sayreville 2 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, the late Joseph F. Walton in 1999. Surviving are her daughter, Melinda M. Walton, of Sayreville; her grandsons, Patrick & Daniel; and her brother, Andrew & his wife, Elizabeth Petersen, of Ormond Beach, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 9:30am from Our Lady of Victories RC Church, 42 Main Street, Sayreville, NJ 08872. Committal will be private.
