

Marion M. nee Murphy Gannon, 88, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at home surrounded by family. She was legal secretary for Reader’s Digest in New York City for many years. She was a hospice volunteer and a Communicant of Our Lady of Mercy and Our Lady of Victories, both of Jersey City and more recently of Most Holy Redeemer RC Church, Old Bridge. Born in Jersey City she resided there most of her life, moving here 25 years ago. Marion is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, the late Joseph E. Gannon in 2004 and a son, baby John Gannon many years ago. She is survived by her family, Joseph E. Gannon, Jr., of Jersey City, Robert F. Gannon & his wife Mary of Old Bridge, Jane M. Gannon of Brooklyn, NY., Thomas P. Gannon of Jersey City, Regina A. Gannon of Jersey City, & Ellyn Gannon, also of Jersey City. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, James V. Maher, Danielle R. Maher, Toni L. Gannon, Erin Gannon-Maniar, GinaLentz-Cabrera, Thomas C. Lentz, Nicole Leibowitz & Kaitlin Gannon. Marion also leaves 2 great grandchildren, Joshua J. Davila and Gabriella I. Carvache along with several nieces & nephews.
Arrangements are by the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy 9, Old Bridge. There will be no calling hours. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 9 from 10:30-11am at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Amboy Rd., Old Bridge. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11am. Committal was private.
