

Robert D. “Boxen” Torre, 63, of Old Bridge, passed away quietly on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his residence. He served with the United States Marine Corps from 1966 thru 1968 in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart. He loved his family and friends very much. Born in Newark, he resided in Old Bridge most of his life. He is predeceased by his parents, Dominick & Katherine Torre. He is survived by his daughter Heather & her husband Kevin Robinson of Jackson, a brother Jerry Torre & his wife Christine of Staten Island; and a sister Karen & her husband Thomas Gaunt of Old Bridge. Robert is also survived by his grand daughters, Taylor & Riley Robinson, his nieces & nephews, Jerry Torre Jr., Lisa Torre, Ashley, Rob, Megan, and Lucas Gaunt; and two great nephews Christopher Torre and Anthony Galotto. ‘Boxen’, as he was known also leaves behind his many wonderful friends. Friends may gather on Thursday, August 5, from 4-8pm at the Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy. 9 Old Bridge. A Funeral Service will be Friday, August 6 at 10:30am from Hegarty’s. Interment with military honors will follow at the Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville.
